Aufstand

Will you just stand by and watch as your country is slowly destroyed without trying to change anything? This seems wrong to me. History has shown that people can stand up for their interests, but can you? "Aufstand" is a game about uprising and the desire to change everything for the better. You take on the role of a rebel with multiple ways to achieve your goals, but there are also obstacles to overcome.

Balcania is a state located in the Balkans, Southern Europe. In 1946, as a result of WWII, it was formed as a union of Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Romania, and later Greece. However, there was one state that wasn't happy with this new union, particularly the Soviet Union, which wanted to control some of the union states. They staged a coup, intending to leave the union without consulting the people. This coup quickly escalated into a long civil war. In the Balcanian civil war, there were two main opponents: the Unionists, whose main goal was to remain united, and the separatists, supported by the Soviet Union. You are a rebel living in a northeastern city, where the administration has been taken over by separatists. Your main goal is to force them to leave.

My goal is not to limit you; on the contrary, it is to give you as many possibilities and opportunities as possible. Is it possible to complete the goal in the first minute? YES. Is it possible to spend hours completing the goal using other methods? YES. I would say that this game is a sandbox—complete it the way you want.

Alongside singleplayer mode, I decided to create and write a multiplayer mode. Here, the rules are a little different. Up to 10 players can join, and everyone has their own role, choosing from two roles (rebels and separatists). The main goal for each faction is to eliminate the other. Separatists have all the weapons, but unless rebels reveal themselves, they can't use the weapons throughout the territory. On the other hand, rebels don't have weapons initially, but they can find and use them to eliminate the separatists. All required files for multiplayer, including the server app, are available for download.

Firstly, in order to run this game, DX11 support or higher, or Vulkan support is obligatory. I also recommend a powerful GPU, not because of graphics, but because my engine uses the GPU for many other calculations, which was actually a bad idea. My PC specs are:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
• RAM: 16 GB 3200MHz
• GPU: AMD Radeon Vega 7
• System: Windows 11

It runs pretty smoothly on my setup, but I can't be sure it will work that well on other systems, especially on mobile. The mobile version was tested only on one device, Google Pixel 5, which is quite old with 8 GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, which wasn't that powerful even at release. On that device, I somehow get around 20 FPS. On Android, Vulkan support is obligatory.

In case you encounter any performance issues, I am aware of them but can't really fix them. I can only say that in my future games, optimization will be better.
